Hey Mom and Dad; My educators introduced some new materials today. I was very much into the instruments, specifically the drum. We used the shakers to bang on different surfaces and my educators sang some songs that made it more inviting and interesting to tap along to. We watched their actions and imitated their movements to see what sound would be made. When we’re all involved the room can get very loud and a bit distracting. Hitting different areas of the drum worked and improved my hand eye coordination, creating loud and soft sounds.
Fun fact: did you know that music can change the mood in any room and can also change the mood of my peers who are feeling a little sad? Having the instruments out improved our classroom atmosphere, as we were in exploration mode. Exploring materials together is one way we build new relationships and trust between friends. We should also let my teachers know what my favourite songs are so we can sing them together.
