This month at Rising Oaks | John Sweeney the toddlers enthusiastically explored the classroom through a bunch of hands-on activities and toys that were set up around the classroom. They used blocks to build towers in various heights, furthering their ability to problem solve when learning how to balance the blocks in order for them to stack. Some of the toddlers practiced sorting, matching, and patterning, using coloured animals and various puzzles and shape sorting toys.
With the different toys and engaging activities that are set up around the classroom the toddlers are strengthening their language, memory, problem-solving, fine motor skills, and social skills such as turn taking and listening.
Through repetition, encouragement, and playful exploration the toddlers can become more confident in their learning. While they explore, play, and create the toddlers are learning and gaining many different skills and abilities that will help them further their development and become successful in their future.
